Week 4 – Art Activity – Zines

Image
I was doing zine about the funny story that I think of. The story was about the tiger were trying to hunt its prey, but was stopped by the human saying this kind of animal was in danger. It was some sort of story I think I would give it to my little niece who I think she would love it. Next time, I think I could do the bigger zine that tell a longer story. This was my first time doing this, but I have already been in love with this activity, because it would give more opportunity for creativity and using art to express persona and identity.

Week 4 – Artists OTW – Tom Sachs & Johanna Fateman

Image
Tom Sachs and Johanna Fateman were both amazing artists, but they followed different specialized field of art and had different background as well. Tom Sachs is a sculptor, his arts focused primarily on the masterpiece of engineering and design; While Johanna was music writer, but also a zine creator. Within Tom Sachs's various art works, I were impressed by the " Lunar Excursion Module Installation " . This was one of his massive work within his Space Program. He was inspired by space and always pursued to make his own space program by his own name, just like Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos. The sculpture just showed how much he love space and astronautic, it was expressed on the way how he design and complete his art works, which look just like the real engineer. On the other hand, Johanna zine was chronicled art with a punk attitude-" to be an outsider and a refuser of culture, while maintaining the access and insight necessary for savvy critique". one of her well-k

Wk 3 – Art & My Major

Image
I am drawing a picture describing how financial world looks like under my perception. The financial world including the cycle of consuming or spending the money. My picture has described how the bank was lending money for people to buy their house, or for the business to expand their operating. Finance is also connect the world with the currency exchanges and the economic that usually was illustrated based on financial chart. This was my original idea all long with the project without any changes. Everything on this project was based on understanding and knowledge of finance, and I think I successfully described the financial world using my drawing. Next time, I would choose a more complicated picture such as a chart of a certain stock on the market. I feel like finance can always be enhanced with art, such as economic can always be portrayed on the column chart and line chart. The GPD or investment were displayed on the pie chart. As my perspective, those chart that can speak up of ec

Leon Zernitsky was a Russian artist. He studied and graduated from Moscow Polygraphic Institute. He is well-versed in classical methods of painting, and he likes to paint in tune with the spirit of great Russian avat-garde artist. Now he enjoyed as a successful career as illustrator and fine artist creating art for magazines, and book publisher. I found two of his art works illustrating how the financial world has looked like and how people related to financial field looks through the number and money.  Justine Smith, on the other hand, was using money notes as her primary material to make an art work. Her current work is concerned with the concept of money and how it touches almost every aspect of our lives. Through money, he created many sculptures that related to political, moral and social sense. Some of her works include "Boom" which was used Chinese Yen money to sculpture a bomb demonstration, giving the meaning of a bombing economic in China during these recent years.

Image
I was having so much fun with my family at Redondo Beach on the Sunday afternoon. The experience was easy to do it. I was so afraid that the plaster would be diluted and the formation could be fail. Fortunately, after only 20 minutes of waiting, I checked the plaster and form had already been created. Below you would find a picture of me preparing the plaster and the beach. I have never done anything like this before. But I was having so much fun on doing this. However, next time I would try something different like a bottle, a can, or any regular objects to caste plaster.
